TransHub Residencies is a middle-income housing development in Makumbura, comprising 316 residential units within one of the fastest-growing urban corridors in the Colombo Metropolitan Region. Located alongside the Makumbura Multimodal Centre and the Southern Expressway interchange, the project occupies a strategic position at the intersection of housing, transport, and emerging urban development. The architectural response is shaped by the need to accommodate a high-density residential community while maintaining comfort, accessibility, and a strong sense of place. Shared amenities, community facilities, and landscaped open spaces are integrated into the development to support everyday life and encourage social interaction among residents. As part of a broader urban housing programme, the project addresses the growing demand for quality housing within close proximity to employment centres, public transport, and essential services. The design seeks to balance efficiency and affordability with a durable architectural character, creating a contemporary residential environment suited to the needs of Sri Lanka’s middle-income population.
