Sited directly adjacent to the existing hospital on Kirimandala Road, Narahenpita, the new 14-storey Ninewells medical building designed by UC Architects expands the existing footprint while mirroring the original facility's established architectural language and visual identity. The design establishes direct physical connections to the main facility to streamline shared logistical operations. The vertical space planning groups surgical suites, intensive care units, and patient rooms across distinct, specialized floor levels to optimize clinical workflows. The building addresses its urban context through specific environmental design choices, using materials selected for optimal thermal insulation and ample daylighting.
